Oliver assignment!
I couldn’t go to see the play, so I did different report.
■Characters Analyze
As a characteristic of the Dickens’s novel, Oliver Twist’s characters discriminate the good and bad clearly. For example, good person is Oliver, Mr. Brownlow and Rose, in contrast bad person is Fagin, Bill Sikes and Monks. However, Nancy is different. She is the character who has both good and bad aspect. Other characters have good and bad clearly, on the other hand only she contradicts. When she is a child of the streets, she has been a thief and drinks too much, also she is a prostitute. In the middle of a story she takes back Oliver who lives with Mr. Brownlow by force, because Fagin is afraid that a secret of oneself is known. Afterward Nancy seems to feel an attack of conscience, because she thought that Oliver is separated from Mr. Brownlow because of oneself. One day Nancy who is a lover of Bill Sykes put a sleeping drug in medicine of Bill Sykes who suffer from fever. Then Nancy goes to meet Mr. Brownlow secretly, and she tells to Mr. Brownlow the place where Oliver is. However, Bill Sykes who heard the story is angry, and she is murdered. She sacrifices her life to save Oliver. She is a wife of the members of the thief groups, and she also does a bad thing, so she has evil, but I think that her action that does not forget conscience is splendid, and I feel sorry for murdered Nancy. She commits a crime for him. Finally she betrays him to save Oliver and finish her life. Therefore the love of Nancy for Bill Sikes expresses moral vagueness and contradiction of her character.
This story expresses Dickens’s criticism for children sacrifice because of deficiency of the “poor help method” (1834 establishment). In those days, London is the world capital, at the same time it is a town that insanitary and poor. In addition, it is a town with many crimes. In Oliver Twist, the life of a poor person at the time of the Industrial Revolution is described by Dickens. The difference of the poverty and wealth is intense, there are characters that are typical bad person and power and committing a crime because of poverty. I understand the United Kingdom’s class system at that time. His novel is read by the people of the middle class, they compared with the character that resembled oneself such as Mr. Bumble who is distant with poor people. Oliver Twist defines such a poor environment is the source of the vice. The poverty makes even the heart of people poor. However Nancy’s last decision that she gave regardless of her danger suggests that there is not always a boundary line of virtue (good) and the vice (bad). In this novel, the good is Oliver, that is to say the people of the lower class. Then the evil is a social system and society trend that accepting it rather than villain such as Bill Sikes.
Oliver finds happiness in the last of the story. However, the story may not be completely settled because an individual bears what society should bear, like Mr. Brownlow saves Oliver of the orphan from the unhappy, and Fagin is judged by the crime that drew in orphans the way of the evil.

1) MLA CITATION
I choose an article from the BBC website about health. I choose this topic because I was interested in a title and attracted her smile.
“Tahila- a girl in five million” BBC NEWS 16 May 2009
[http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7831484.stm]
2) ORIGINAL ARTICLE
Thaila- a girl in five million
Tahlia loves ballet
Like many three-year-old girls, Tahlia Lovegrove adores ballet.
She likes walking in the woods with her parents and going to nursery.
Most of the time she is like every other girl her age – but in fact Tahlia is one in five million.
When she was just one year old, doctors discovered that Tahlia had a very rare condition: long segment tracheal stenosis (LSTS), which left her windpipe or trachea dangerously narrow.
Initially doctors were pessimistic about Tahlia’s chances of survival, but within days she was given pioneering surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) to shorten and widen her trachea in a delicate five-hour operation.
Despite the initial fears of medics, today Tahlia is thriving and now appears in a TV fundraising campaign for the hospital which saved her.
The normal size of a trachea is 6-8mm – over three times the size of Tahlia’s at the time of her operation.
A major blood vessel from the heart to her lung was also hooked around the trachea and had to be repositioned.
3) SUMMARY

Mother’s Day
Yestarday was Mother’s day. Did you do anything for your mother? For example, giving bouquet, presenting to something, sending a letter of thanks and so on. I made a hash and rice for dinner. I introduce it’s recipe. How to make is very simple.
First, you slice an onion and cut a carrot. Next, you cut beef to the size that preparation is good for. Second, you fly the ingredient which you cut, and add water if you fly it. After it boils, you should remove scum. Then you stew it for around 10 minutes. Finally, you add roux and stew it slowly and carefully for around 15 minutes. That’s easy!! Besides I made milcrepe for dessert. It is the cake that thin crepe is tier, and fresh cream is in it. It’s dericious.
My mother was very pleased, so I was happy too. I don’t forget the feeling of thanks to my mother.
